In 2026, the Portuguese government will continue to support and offer benefits to anyone who wishes to purchase a new 100% electric vehicle.

100% electric cars will continue to be exempt from the Vehicle Tax (ISV) and the Single Circulation Tax (IUC).

Regarding incentives for purchasing electric cars through the Environmental Fund, the support remains at €4,000 for individuals (new 100% electric vehicles, with scrappage of a vehicle over 10 years old) and €5,000 for social welfare institutions (IPSS) and municipalities, applicable to vehicles priced up to €38,500 (or €55,000 for vehicles with more than 5 seats).
